Security Update
New Security Update:
Secure your computer to protect yourself from bank fraud.
Software vulnerabilities, viruses and other uninvited software can be used by fraudsters to capture your on-line banking logins and take over your account.
To protect yourself:
Download free anti-spyware tools at
www.lavasoft.com. Here are some other tips to help protect your privacy.
- Make sure your computer operating system and browser software is updated to the manufacturer's current recommendations. The manufacturer should provide you with the ability to get patches over the web, and may even alert you to new ones.
- Run reputable anti-virus software and update it from the manufacturer regularly and specifically when the software alerts you to the availability of new virus protection information.
- Don't allow software to be loaded on your computer that you are not completely familiar with. If you share your PC with other people including your children, tell them the rules on downloading and installing software.
- Use personal firewall software to protect your PC from outsiders getting in and information getting out.
- Don't use auto-logon programs or select "remember my password" when prompted by your browser. These make passwords pointless because anyone who gains access to your computer could gain access to your accounts.
- Only use trusted public internet terminals.
As always, review your account statements for fraudulent activity and contact the relevant financial institution if you suspect any. For more details, visit our
